ABOUT ME
My Journey with Meditation:
My relationship with meditation has taken many different forms over the years. Sitting in stillness was something I found quite difficult at first, so I explored other ways of practising. For a long time, conscious dance and movement meditation were my preferred ways of coming into the present moment.
Eventually, life brought me back to the cushion and to the practice of Vipassana and Metta. I was going through an incredibly difficult period in my life. All I wanted was for the pain to stop, but the more I pushed the discomfort away, the harder it became. During a seven-day silent retreat, I was able to let go of the struggle, soften around what I was feeling, and gradually allow it to just be there. Through this experience, I discovered a way of being there for myself that I hadn't known before. I learned to hold myself with a depth of kindness and compassion that has stayed with me ever since. The seed was planted.
Since then, I've continued to deepen my practice, and with that has come something incredibly valuable to me: a greater sense of peace, inner freedom, and ease. There is less fighting with myself and what life brings, and more trust in my ability to meet whatever comes my way. Meditation and mindfulness have profoundly changed the way I experience life. In many ways, they've made me fall deeply in love with life and all that it entails.
My Approach to Teaching:
Sharing these teachings with others is something I genuinely love. I like to think of it as planting a seed together and helping each person discover how to nurture it in their own way. We all bring different experiences, personalities, and needs to the practice. What works beautifully for one person might not feel right for another. My hope is to spark curiosity and enthusiasm, and support people in developing a practice that feels truly their own.
Learning to meditate doesn't require a quiet mind, a particular personality, or any special ability. We begin wherever we are, with whatever is present. In my group classes and one-on-one sessions, we explore meditation through guided practice, simple teachings, and open conversation. There's room to ask questions, share experiences, and explore whatever comes up — whether that's deep peace, calmness, boredom, restlessness, sleepiness, or anything in between. It's all part of the practice.
My Training & Background:
My teaching is rooted in my own meditation practice, including extended periods of silent retreat. I completed the Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Certification Program (MMTCP) with Tara Brach and Jack Kornfield, deepening my training in mindfulness, compassion, and the Buddhist Insight Meditation tradition.
Curiosity has taken me down many different paths in life. I've studied history, trained as a shoemaker, worked as a shoe designer, and spent almost a decade building a sustainable lifestyle brand with my sister. For the past six years, I've worked as a professional coach and end-of-life companion, supporting people through personal challenges, life transitions, and difficult times. I also earned the Professional Certified Coach (PCC) credential from the International Coaching Federation.
This background naturally complements my meditation teaching. In one-on-one sessions, I bring together mindfulness, meditation, and coaching, adapting our work to each person's individual needs and circumstances.
